To Me... To You! That's the Chuckle Brothers celebrating fifty years on stage! Surely not! Oh yes they are! Most famed for their highly successful ChuckleVision TV series, Paul and Barry have been entertaining audiences for over half a century, including decades of television shows which have turned them into a national treasure. Fifty Years of To Me... To You is their story, written by Paul with a little help from Barry in his own special way. We all love the Chuckle Brothers and their special crazy fun that has filled the land with laughter, but life has not always been a bowl of chuckles for the boys and in this book we learn of their good times, their not so good times and their great times. From building sandcastles on Cleethorpes beach to filling the biggest theatres in the country, their story has been an adventure all of its own. They know what it is like to entertain the lunchtime crowd in a working men's club where most of the audience are reading the Sunday papers and looking at the clock to see if it is time to go home for their roast dinner. They know what it is like to be paid off or to be let down by promises that were never kept. The Chuckle Brothers are all about fun and laughter but behind the scenes they have endured their personal tragedies as well. But this book is by no means a tale of woe, it is a celebration of two great guys who love what they do and are loved by those they do it for. The adventure is still going on for the Chuckle Brothers as they are still packing venues with their special shows as well as being in demand for pantomime and TV. If you have ever laughed with Paul and Barry, then Fifty Years of To Me... To You is something you simply cannot miss.
Paul Chuckle, born Paul Elliott, and his brother Barry are the nationally-loved Chuckle Brothers and have been entertaining children and families with their 'good, clean, fun' style of comedy for over fifty years. After spending many years performing in theatres, holiday camps, and pantomime Paul and Barry initially found television fame winning talent shows Opportunity Knocks and New Faces. They went on to appear as the ChuckleHounds for Children s BBC, moving on to the hugely popular ChuckleVision which ran for over twenty-one series between 1987 and 2009. Paul and Barry are still entertaining audiences of young and old alike, touring with their own show through the year as well as appearing in pantomime each Christmas season. Other TV appearances include Comic Relief and Pointless and in 2104 they recorded and appeared in a music video with Tinchy Stryder.
