Jeremy Robson was a key figure in the London jazz and poetry scene in the 1960s and 1970s. He started the legendary Poetry and Jazz in Concert events featuring leading poets and musicians. Argo released two LP-sets of the concerts, recently reissued on CD. He edited the generational anthology The Young British Poets, reviewed poetry for Tribune and toured Israel with Ted Hughes, Peter Porter, D.J. Enright and Dannie Abse. Blues in the Park is Robson s first collection for many years. Moving, witty, wide-ranging and contemporary, it combines melancholy beauty, surprised middle-age and a compelling commitment to the Horatian virtues of friendship and family and hearth. Blues in the Park will be welcomed by readers of Jeremy Robson s early volumes, as well as by all those who have heard him read over the years.
