Two of those seiners were the Avalon and the Phyllis T. This picture book, featuring paintings by Jesse Joshua Watson, provides a fictional retelling of that fateful day when the Phyllis T was filled to the decks with salmon and went down off Cattle Point, San Juan Island. The book also includes non-fiction back matter and historic photos that detail the recovery of the Phyllis T, and a special section on the five Pacific Northwest salmon species.
