Inhaltsangabe

Civilizations in chaos, over-consumptive lifestyle, drought, overuse of the Earth's resources, changing weather patterns and over-population. Ripped from today's headlines? No, these were the conditions in the American Southwest more than a thousand years ago. Both the Hisatsinom (Anasazi) and Toltec cultures teetered on the brink of disintegration. One strong young Hisatsinom woman comes forth to aid her people. Kaiya is inspired by her mentor, as wise and respected shaman. But trouble is brewing in the South. From the militaristic Toltecs will come Drok, a priest with evil intent. Will outside destructive influences destroy the people? Can Kaiya bring a spirit of hope and healing before it's too late? Can the power of love overcome the searing flames of hate? Set in the wild and majestic canyonlands of the Colorado Plateau, here is the story of Kaiya, seer and healer, as she journeys through loss, magic, knowledge, power and joy.
