Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Dr. Sabrina Echols was born in Chicago, IL. She attended Curie High Performing High School where God gave her a vision to become a doctor in order to promote health and enhance the lives of the medically underserved. Her mandate from the Lord is to open doors for voiceless generations – those who cannot speak for themselves. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Echols earned a medical degree at the prestigious Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, IL. She became a community advocate and also earned a Masters in Public Health from the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL. Dr. Sabrina Echols completed residency at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas) Department of Family Medicine in 2000. She completed a Fellowship in Leadership/Faculty Teaching in the Family Medicine Department. Dr. Echols joined the faculty in 2001-2007 and became Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, caring for patients, teaching medical students/residents, and performing clinical research in the area of breast cancer prevention. Dr. Echols now contracts with major health care facilities in Houston, Texas promoting wellness, home health care, and prevention. She is currently Medical Director of Central Care Community Clinic in Houston. She is also the founder and CEO of non-profit, Butterfly Wellness. Dr. Echols breathes belief into the lives of others. She is the founder of a weekly conference call, "Take God as your Business Partner," and Operation Soar – a college student leadership mentoring program. Dr. Echols also has a scholarship program for minorities pursuing health care studies at Xavier University in Louisiana. She is a Senior Director in Mary Kay Cosmetics where she teaches leadership skills to empower families. Dr. Echols is a prayer intercessor at The Fountain of Praise Church (Houston, TX) and serves as a leader in The Wellness Ministry there. She is also a prayer intercessor on international Prayer Ministry Calls with Dr. Cassandra Scott of Created2Produce in Houston, Texas. Honored as one of Houston’s Top 25 Women in 2011, Dr. Echols is well-known for empowering communities in community health and wellness, and has been a platform speaker at many women’s empowerment & health events. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dr. Sabrina Echols is the blessed mother of son, David and daughter, Imani, and resides in Pearland, Texas.
