Kirov is by John Schettler, the award winning author of the Meridian time travel series, and although this novel briefly employs a science fiction time travel artifice to move the ship to 1941, it becomes largely historical fiction from that point on. The situation and exact orders of battle for the Royal Navy and US Atlantic fleet are lovingly researched, and the author drops Kirov into the mix in a tense and riveting naval saga.
