Running Scared - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

This gripping collection of two novellas and five short stories contains a measured blend of suspense, horror, mystery and romance ... all with a Twilight Zone touch. Sheila's Marathon Year - An abused woman's mental breakdown leaves her unable to form memories except while she is running. The Money Clip - An average man picks up a lost money clip while out for a run and his life is turned upside down. Runner's High - One recovering addict discovers what running high is all about when he is caught in a blizzard. Driven - They call him Rock. Not because he looks like Rock Hudson, but because a congenital defect has left his face a mask, incapable of showing emotion. Now a case involving a murdered runner ties Detective Adam Cannaday in knots. Is the murderer a fellow runner ... maybe even his own wife? He's in for the race of his life as he chases a cold-blooded killer in a town full of runners. "Driven" will twist you around and leave you breathless. And it's only one of seven suspenseful stories in RUNNING SCARED Programmed - A distraught husband searches for his wife, who is trapped in a body that refuses to stop running. The Ghost Runners - A winner with an oversize ego learns that it is sometimes better to finish second. Cowboy Joe - To unravel the mystery behind an ultrarunning legend, a New York writer travels to the high plains of Wyoming. Once there, her story takes one strange turn after another.
