The Master-Knot of Human Fate - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

The Master-Knot of Human Fate. The remarkable tale of a man and woman stranded in the mountains after a great flood consumes the rest of the world. As the last known survivors of the human species, they struggle for survival but must ultimately ask themselves: Are they destined to be Adam & Eve to the future of the human race? Are they capable, and worthy, of rekindling the spark of humanity? And most importantly ... should they do so, when humankind before them was rushing so heedlessly toward its own destruction long before the deluge arrived? Originally released in 1901, Ellis Meredith's exploration of humanity was a milestone of post-apocalyptic, philosophical fiction ... but stands in conflict with modern styles of prose and dialogue. Now Jennifer Hurt - former English teacher, librarian, and tutor - introduces her updated version of this magnificent tale. Originally adapted for the reading pleasure of her granddaughter, Ms. Hurt now shares her updated text with all fans of Ellis Meredith's classic. The Master-Knot of Human Fate - still as intricate as ever.
