Laurenn Prater Barker is a lifetime artist and writer having spent more than 30 years in the fields of graphic design and publishing. Her career has incorporated design, illustration, photography and writing. She has designed and produced six books in addition to the Lae Lae series and more than 100 printed publications. She has been involved extensively in the areas of children's development, both with her own family and on a volunteer and board basis with public and private organizations dedicated to childhood issues. She has taught art to children and adults, has training in Expressive Arts Therapy and is a member of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. She donates a percentage of the proceeds from her books to child welfare, animal rights and environmental causes.
