The children travel back in time to Ancient Egypt and experience first-hand the liberation of the Hebrews from slavery. As they embody Moses and his brave sister, Miriam, Benjamin confronts the Pharaoh to "let my people go" and Ariel plays her timbrel as the Red Sea parts.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

January Akselrad is the author/composer of "Matzah & Miracles" and "Lost In The Library" along with over 100 curriculum and ethics-based plays and musicals that she has produced and directed for schools, libraries and institutions. She is the author of "Classroom Teacher As Theater Director," a primer for elementary school teachers on how to put on a play. For eight years, Ms. Akselrad was on faculty at the Riverdale Country School in New York where she created a theater program for their 1st through 6th grades. Ms. Akselrad holds a degree in music and composition from Hunter College and attended the Julliard School of Music where she studied opera. In 2009, she co-founded SEE THE WISH, a partnership with Jennifer Jo Young, the co-author of "Matzah & Miracles" and author of the children's chapter book, "The Wishful Penny." The company creates original literature, music and theater to educate through entertainment and motivate children to actualize their potential.
