Reseña del editor

Dr. Jean Lisette Brodey, a retired Temple University journalism professor, was a part-time poet in her late 20s and early 30s. During that time, she wrote hundreds of poems, with several of them published in national and international poetry magazines. For the most part, she wrote poetry that focuses on people of different ages and backgrounds. Some of her subjects were extraordinarily close to the author, whereas others, like President Franklin D. Roosevelt, were iconic figures. The people who affected the author’s life are expressed through imagery, abstract concepts, and word portraits. As a mother, Dr. Brodey would read children’s poetry from her favorite books to her son and daughter. She began writing her own book but never finished it. Several of those children’s poems are also included in this collection. My Way to Anywhere is divided into eight sections: On the Persistence of Memory, My Way to Anywhere, The Muse, Friendship, For Children, In Memory of the Master: A Tribute to Edgar Lee Masters, Remembrance, and Road to Love.

Biografía del autor

Dr. Jean Lisette Brodey was a professor of communications at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she taught public relations. During her tenure, the Dr. Jean Brodey Student Achievement Award was created to honor the year’s outstanding graduating communications senior in the city of Philadelphia. In 1983 her book, Mid-Life Careers, was published by Westminster Press. In 1998 she was installed into the Philadelphia Public Relations Association’s Hall of Fame. Prior to teaching, she held four other positions at the university. Her first full-time job was writing facts and fortunes for Fleer’s bubble gum wrappers. As a young woman, she spent years writing poetry. This book is only a small representation of her work. She has two children, Lisette and Kenneth, and one granddaughter, Dara.
