Townsend is a locally owned network of several clinics in south Louisiana treating addiction with medically directed intensive outpatient treatment. September 2010 was National Recovery Month and Townsend wanted to celebrate it. Patients are asked if they would share their experiences with getting into recovery. These stories form the first part of the book. Second, a few essays from Dr. Wetsman's blog, addictiondoctor.org are included to outline the Townsend medical philosophy. Next, a few frequently asked questions are addressed. The purpose of the book is to help someone who reads one of these stories find a path to recovery.
