Corbin Fowler is a tenured professor of philosophy at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, received a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Wyoming, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Nebraska. He was a campus leader during the student power and ant-war movements of the late 60s and early 70s. During graduate school in Lincoln, Nebraska, he worked to impeach Richard Nixon for Nixon's various crimes and violations of the Constitution. While teaching at Central Missouri State University and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (1979-1986), he founded two local peace-with-justice groups.During his academic career, Dr. Fowler has taught at public and private universities and colleges, from Wyoming to Pennsylvania and from Wisconsin to Kentucky. He has given numerous professional presentations at conferences in the United Sates and some in Europe. He is also the author of many professional articles and two books: The "Logic" of U.S. Weapons' Policy (1987) and Morality for Moderns (1996). He is the managing editor and cofounder (1998) of Janua Sophia, an undergraduate journal of philosophy. His current teaching interest is how we can understand ourselves better by examining public and private myth. He met his wife Patti Repko while both were working to protest the first Gulf War in the early 90s. Patti and Corbin live in Edinboro, Pennsylvania with their son, Corbin Sterling Fowler, and their wonderful cat, Charlotte.
