"Red Rhupert, Red Rhupert, who are you Red Rhupert? In the land of Rhupert across the Rhupert Sea, sat Little Red Rhupert and red was all he could be..." And so begins the journey for Little Red Rhupert. A journey of adventure and discovery for a little red ostrich trying to find his place in the world.

D. Arthur Willson was born in 1958 and spent his childhood in the small mid-western town of Brookville, Ohio. The son of an artist, D. Arthur was surrounded with creativity, and as a result began his own art career 1978. Traveling throughout the country and abroad, he has left his marks his striking pastel wildlife images. Thousands of paintings later, and after an unusually favorable response to Wilson's outrageous depiction of ostriches, one particular image began to evolve; that of a delightful character named Rhupert. "Rhupert is about embracing all that unique and humorous about being human," Wilson says, "the ability to lag at yourself, accept life's terms and to not take life too seriously, is the true message within the heart of this unlikely character!" With his development of "Rhupert" came "Little Red Rhupert," a little ostrich with big ideas. Little Red Rhupert has felt, as most of us have, a little alone and as if he doesn't fit in. He looks around and perceives that all the other "Rhuperts" seem to have it all together. But in the end, "Little Red Rhupert" would find the truth, as well as his calling, his identity, his HOME.D. Arthur Willson now spends as much time writing as he does in the creation of Fine Art. He resides happily in the hill country of western Arkansas with his lovely wife, Lisa and their four boys, as well as three adorable furry critters.
