Loyalty: New and Selected Poems is the second book pubhsed by poet and social justice activist Henry Braun. It is also the first published offering by Off the Grid Press, which he helped found in his hometown of Weld, Maine, in 2003. In 2010, Loyalty won the Maine Poets and Writers Award for best book of poetry published in Maine in that year.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Henry Braun (1930- 2014), the author of Loyalty: New and Selected Poems, was born in Olean, New York, and grew up in Buffalo. In the 1960s, Braun organized poetry read-ins against the war in Vietnam and was convicted in a Federal court of tax evasion. His war tax dollars were donated to a veterans hospital and to public schools in Philadelphia. As an organizer of a draft card turn-in at the Justice Department, he was an unindicted co-conspirator at the Boston 5 trial. For most of his career, Braun taught literature and creative writing at Temple University, including a year at Temple's branch campus in Japan. His first book of poems, The Vergil Woods, was published by Atheneum (1968).
