Inhaltsangabe

This biography of Bishop Morris Brown – a pivotal figure in the development and expanse of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in the United States and Canada – brings him out of the shadows, illuminating his accomplishments as leader, pastor and bishop in the AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and as a key figure in pre-Civil War America. He was a beacon of Christian faith for slaves and free Africans in 18th century Charleston, and a stalwart advocate to end slavery and bring equality to the Africans stolen from their homeland but who became an integral part of American history.
