A former professional baseball player in the Seattle Mariner organization, O. Dashawn Patrick will graduate from the University of Washington in 2005. He works as a professional baseball instructor and also coaches youth baseball and football. He resides in Seattle with his wife and children.

Excerpt from CH. 11 "Please, don't jump. I can help you," pleaded the Seattle police officer as dense fog crawled over the darkened bridge. The only light beamed from the officer's flashlight, reflecting off the beads of sweat dripping from the desperate teenager's brow. "Let me help you," he begged.

"Don't come any closer. Don't take another step or I'll let go," wailed the teen, clutching the icy metal bars. "I swear to God I'll do it!"

Which character of And Some RISE Above It has reached this final breaking point, and why? Why are some able to conquer the perils of life, while others collapse from its pressures? The enigma is this. The spirit to rise has no boundaries, sees no color, cares not for gender and has no concern for financial status. It is selective whom it chooses, for not all accept its calling, which is to overcome.
