Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Amanda Akers and Stephanie Surles researched and authored "Preparing for the Journey." Amanda's background is in public policy, with an emphasis on early childhood and childcare issues. She has been a researcher and writer for the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) for two years. Stephanie, an attorney, brings a decade of experience in education and education policy. She has been with MCEC for five years and serves as MCEC's Research and Development Officer. Most importantly, they are both also parents. Amanda is mother to two sons, one two and a half and one who was born as this publication went to press. (It was a race to see if her baby or the book would come first!) Stephanie is mother to a two year old daughter, and is expecting her second child this winter.
