An unprejudiced and honest vision of Cuban society at the end of the twentieth century from the perspective of a protagonist who remains psychologically static though she travels on an old bicycle that breaks quite frequently, on the eternally late bus, on the plane that she almost misses and obsessively analyzes herself and her surroundings through her incessant and circular thinking on this internal trip, equally or more intense than the external one.

JACQUELINE HERRANZ BROOKS was born in Habana, Cuba in 1968. She graduated from Escuela Provincial de Fotografía (Provincial School of Photography) in 1990. She is the author of the play Yo fuí a la guerra and of several poetry collections. Her book of poetry entitled Liquid Days, was published in Argentina by Tribal Song in 1997. She was a guest at the Tercera Conferencia de Escritoras Caribeñas de Habla Hispana (Third Conference of Spanish Caribbean Writers) at Hunter College, City University of New York in 1998. Her short story "Intromisión abrupta de esos dos personajes, (Abrupt Intromission of Those Two Characters) won the prestigious Fiction Award in the literary contest of Revolución y Cultura Magazine in 1997 and was included in the book Dream With No Name: Contemporary Fiction from Cuba, published by Seven Stories Press in 1999.
