THE MANIFESTO SERIES To create a Manifesto Series volume, Rain City Projects commissions a nationally recognized playwright to write a mission for or vision of what theater could be. They then edit a compilation of 5 to 8 plays, culled from the ranks of works with a link to the Pacific Northwest that best illustrate their personal manifesto for the theater. Rain City Project's third volume includes: Language Rooms by Yussef El Guindi; Clubfoot by Bret Fetzer and Stephen McCandless; Mitzi's Abortion by Elizabeth Heffron; Vera Wilde by Chris Jeffries; An American Book of the Dead by Paul Mullin; Live! From the Last Night of My Life by Wayne Rawley; and Wizzer Pizzer by Amy Wheeler MORE ABOUT RAIN CITY PROJECTS RCP is dedicated to supporting, promoting and developing professional playwrights and their work in the Pacific Northwest. Our goals include raising the profile of the playwright within the working theater community and furthering an understanding of the playwright's role to the larger community. We encourage the presence and participation of the playwright in the rehearsal process, and work to educate audiences around the relationship of text to performance. Our current programs include Sweetness Grants that provide travel stipends for playwrights to attend rehearsals and premiere performances of their works and publishing the Manifesto Series, a unique Biennial anthology of new works.
