Originally from Miami, Florida, Valero moved his residence to Colorado where he eventually met and became acquainted with Clive Cussler. In addition to writing extensively about Cussler and Dirk Pitt, he, like many other aficionados, found himself acquiring rare Cussler collectibles and material from around the world.
His collection of Cussler books and related material is arguably the largest and most comprehensive in existence, and Valero’s expertise in the world of Dirk Pitt and his creator made his authorship of this book almost an inevitability.
The Collector’s Guide to Clive Cussler is Valero’s first published work. He is currently writing and researching a second book, Clive Cussler and the Adventurous World of Dirk Pitt. He lives in the Denver area with his wife, Cristie, and their three children, Jessica, Ryan and Meagan.
