Weeper - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Eleven-year-old Michael Morton is a quiet kid with a big imagination—and a big problem. He’s being bullied by Brad Harmon at school, and no one seems to notice. Still grieving the loss of his mother and grandfather, Michael finds comfort in drawing superheroes and talking to a weeping willow tree near his house.

One afternoon, while watching a squirrel disappear into a hollow in the willow, Michael climbs up for a better look. The branch snaps beneath him, and he falls—striking his head on a rock. Knocked unconscious, he enters a dreamlike world within the tree, where he sees his mother again. She urges him to be brave and tells him it’s time to use a key he once found hidden in his father’s sock drawer.

With new courage and direction, Michael returns to the real world ready to face his fears—and discovers that the key may unlock more than just a coin box.

Weeper is a heartfelt middle-grade story about loss, resilience, and the quiet strength it takes to stand up for yourself.

An afterword provides a series of practical solutions for children who are being bullied.
