This book is constructed from the ground up – but it applies the same curriculum, pacing & musical concepts as the other books. Because the snare and mallet daily warm-ups, rudiments, musical studies and etudes are designed to work together, the individual exercises and lines differ from the original Fresh Approach books. The introduction of all the percussion instruments also adds the opportunity to include short ENSEMBLES within each lesson that apply the new musical concepts in a fun, engaging way. New “extended content”, including rudimental etudes, mallet sightreading and in-depth instructional content for all the accessory instruments are offered in the Appendix of each book. Book 2 covers Lessons 11-20, with challenging ensembles, rudimental etudes and mallet sightreading that will keep a student busy well into their 2nd or 3rd year of study!
