After a stint in the U.S. Army he opened the Village Barber Shop in Wilton, then got a part time job writing sports for the Wilton Bulletin. Next it was on to a radio career that spanned seven years from WINE in Brookfield to WNLK in Norwalk, followed by a television career that took him first to Fort Wayne, Indiana and later to Seattle.
