Just My Luck! is the autobiography (published posthumously) of Dick Gilbert, the helicopter pilot/traffic reporter for WHAS Radio in Louisville, Kentucky from 1970 through 1984. It is a fascinating look into the incredible life of an adventurous man. It includes detailed descriptions of life in a German prison camp in World War II, assignments in the South Pacific at the site of the first H-bomb test and on the team that surveyed the Arctic Circle in Alaska, as well as a detailed description of his live broadcast during the 1974 tornado that devasted Louisville. In his humorous, colorful style, Dick Gilbert captures the essence of the scene he describes, and stamps it with his own unique philosophy.
