A culmination of photographer Ted Grant's 10-year journey through six hospitals captures the essence of the medical profession. What began as a series of photographs of surgical teams quickly incorporated medical students, general practitioners, and other physicians with patients, in conference, on rounds, and in repose. The Osler philosophy is portrayed through an account of his life and practice, through Grant's dramatic and compelling visual images, and through quotations from other prominent figures.
