The Comics Open is the hilarious story of what happens when a group of standup comedians plans a charity golf tournament. Their goals were to raise money for children's chairities and in the process, buy themselves some good will. What they accomplish is just about putting an end to stand up comedy and comedy clubs in their fair city. They accomplish that by pledgeing more money than is possible to raise for all the charities and promising celebrities to play in the tournament and perform in the show afterwards but none of them show up. The Comics Open is saved by a miracle from a source that no one would ever suspect. Readers won't need to know a bogey from a birdie to enjoy The Comics Open--they just need to know how to laugh.

Ron Kenney is a stand up comedian who has been performing professionally for over twenty years in almost every venue imaginable. From colleges to cruise ships and just about every comedy club in the country. He has been seen on many television shows featuring stand up comedians such as Evening At The Improv, Comedy Express, VH1, MTV and Comedy On The Road. He has also open for such stars in Las Vegas as Lou Rawls, Neil Sedaka, Melissa Manchester and Jerry Vail just to name a few. Ron has merged his three passions, comedy, golf and writing into his first novel, The Comics Open. Many of the characters in his novel are based on comedians he has played golf with over the years. The Comics Open is said to be as fast paced and funny as Ron Kenney's night club act and that is very funny.
