Mark Freeman, writer: Unknown primarily as a poet, born back when the 1900's still meant something, undecided on a favorite flower, Mark Freeman teaches and lives in Chicago with his wife and their two children, whom he adores. They currently share their house with a dog, a cat, a hamster, a box turtle, some hermit crabs, some fish and some snails, though crickets they try to keep outdoors.
David Friedman, illustrator: Working primarily as an artist and graphic designer in Portland, Oregon, David Friedman piddles in many artistic puddles. The illustrations for this book were created using colored pencils drawn on black paper. Apart from a couple of coloring books, this is his first illustrated children's book.
