David J. Rothman is the Director of the Graduate Program in Creative Writing at Western State Colorado University, where he designed the Poetry Concentration, which he also directs and in which he teaches. at Western he also directs the annual conference Writing the Rockies and edits THINK, a journal of poetry and criticism. He also occasionally teaches at Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver. He is co-Founder of the Crested Butte Music Festival, Founding Editor and Publisher of Conundrum Press, and served for six years as Headmaster of Crested Butte Academy, an independent school in Colorado. He is a former Executive Director and President of the Robinson Jeffers Association (robinsonjeffersassociation.org) and sits on a number of non-profit boards, including the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP). He serves as Resident Poet for Colorado Public Radio and as Poet Laureate of Colorado's Western Slope (2017-'18).
