Scientific Qigong Exploration is the first book written in laymans's terms by Professor Lu Zuyin to introduce modern scientific research on the external qi of qigong to the general public. An accomplished nuclear physicist, Prof. Lu spent ten years conducting scientific qigong experiments since the early 1980's until he passed away in 1992. This book recounts Prof. Lu's fascinating personal experience of collaborating with the renowned qigong master Dr. Yan Xin and the ground breaking results never obtained before. There results verify the physical existence of external qi and demonstrate that the human body can affect substances such as water, DNA, and atomic nuclei without physical contact.

Professor Lu was an accomplished experimental nuclear physicist. He graduated from the Southwest United University (a war time joint univeristy of Beijing, Tsinghua and other top universities in China) in physics in 1946. Except the time he was receiving advanced training in the Soviet Union from 1957-1959, he conducted defense-related research work in China from 1950 to 1979. He was the director of Fast Neutron Laboratory of the Institute of Nuclear Physics, then the director for the Nuclear Physics Measurement and Radioactive Chemistry Analysis Group at the Institute of Nuclear Testing. He received the third prize of the National Invention Award in 1978, the first prize of the National Science Advancement Award in 1988, and the second prize of the National Invention Award in 1989.
In 1979, he became a Physics Professor at Trsinghua University and later the founding director of the Institute of Modern Biology and Biomedical Engineering. In 1987, he became a Physics Professor at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
From the early 1980's until he passed away in 1992, Prof. Lu conducted scientific qigong research in his spare time and published over 60 qigong research papers in scentific journals and conference proceedings. Prof. Lu was a trail blazer and pioneer in the field of qigong research.Review:
"These works are a first in the world, they unequivocally demonstrated that without touching a substance, the human body can affect the substance and change its structure... They are new scientific discoveries and the prelude to a scientific revolution." -- Dr. Tsien Hsue-shen, Chairman of the Chinese Association of Scientists, formerly Goddard Professor of Rocket Science at the California Institute of Technology
