Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Brian M. Jacobson learned to fly in 1970 in a Cessna 150 and has amassed nearly 13,000 hours in general aviation aircraft since. Originally from New England he now lives in the Detroit, Michigan area where he is a full-time aircraft appraiser, a buyer's agent, and writer. Throughout the years he has flown all kinds of airplanes from light singles to jets, and enjoys sharing his experience with others who can benefit from them. "On my first instrument flight after receiving my rating the weather went way below what was forecast," Jacobson says. "I found myself shooting an ILS approach to minimums. I broke out of the clouds, saw the approach lights, then the runway, and said to my right seat passenger, "hey, this really works!"

Brian M. Jacobson is a 12,000 hour corporate pilot who has flown alltypes of general aviation aircraft during his 26 years in aviation. He and his wife, Virginia, own a 1975 Piper Arrow which they use to travel across the United States. He is a contributing editor to Aviation Safety, IFR Refresher, a contributor to Plane & Pilot, and can be heard on Belvoir Publication's Pilot's Audio Update.
