For more than a quarter of a century, Bud Seretean has dedicated himself to learning as much as he can about living a healthy lifestyle. He is a self-made businessman who built one of the nation's most successful carpet manufacturing firms from scratch. Now in his 80s, he continues on a rigorous exercise and healthy eating regimen every day and lives an active lifestyle that would make many in their 50s and 60s envious. He abides by the philosophy that aging is a treatable condition and that now is the time to stop the clock. His new book titled "Living Healthy to 100: A Wellness Program for Seniors", is the culmination of more than 27 years of research and "Living Healthy". Mr. Seretean is living proof that a healthy lifestyle can have an impact on the aging process.
Mr. Seretean believes all individuals need to take responsibility for their own health. He feels all men and women, especially those over 55, can add years to their lives through effective and simple lifestyle changes, primarily in the areas of diet and exercise.
Helping others discover the health secrets he has found has been a driving passion for Mr. Seretean, who founded the Seretean Wellness Center on the campus of Oklahoma State University, the first of its kind on a university campus, and the Seretean Health Promotion Center at Emory University.
A recipient of the 2004 Partnership for Aging Annual Award, Mr. Seretean is often called upon to speak on diet, exercise and a healthier lifestyle. He has attended a number of intensive wellness programs and has followed the philosophies of Nathan Pritikin, Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. Walter Willett of Harvard University.
Currently, Mr. Seretean resides in South Florida. His interests include reading, playing golf and off course exercising. His ultimate goal is to be photographed working out in a gym on his 100th birthday.
