Lee and Kristy Phillips are both attorneys with more than 20 years of professional experience in estate and financial planning areas of the law. They are members of the Estate Planning Section of the Utah State Bar and are licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of Utah. Lee is also licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, and is a member of the Patent Section of the Utah State Bar, the American Bar Association, the National Association of College and University Attorneys, and the Licensing Executives Society.
As founder and president of LegaLees Corporation, Lee directs a legal publishing/software company which produces and markets legal training materials for attorneys and laymen. Lee has received grants from federal and state government to develop legal software systems that are currently being used nationwide in federal laboratories, universities, and companies. Kristy is corporate counsel for Capital Source, Inc. and oversees development projects for LegaLees Corporation.
During the past 15 years, Lee and Kristy have written hundreds of trusts and helped half-a-million people discover financial security. Lee is a critically acclaimed lecturer on asset protection strategies and the law. He has advised more than 1,000 groups including attorneys, doctors, accountants, business professionals and entrepreneurs throughout the United States and Canada.
Lee holds licenses in real estate, insurance, and securities. He also has expertise in patent and intellectual property law, and served as Associate General Counsel and Director of Technology Transfer of the nation's largest private university, Brigham Young University. Lee and Kristy are the authors of nine books written to increase public access to the law and to develop business opportunities. These include Accumulation and Preservation of Wealth, Superhighway to Wealth: Making Money on the Internet, NetProfits, Flexible Benefit Plan - Retirement Savings Plan, and How to Approach a Venture Capital Firm. Lee also has authored numerous articles that have been widely published in newspapers and magazines.
Kristy earned a law degree from Brigham Young University and graduated with honors with a B.A. in history. Lee holds a law degree in addition to a M.S. in chemistry from Brigham Young University. In 1982, Lee and Kristy experienced a near-deadly brush with cancer that changed their lives. Just three months after starting his first job as a patent attorney, Lee was diagnosed with terminal cancer. During months of debilitating cancer treatment and hospitalization, Lee and Kristy gained firsthand experience in effectively dealing with the legal system, asset protection, the medical industry, and insurance cmpanies. Since then, they have been ardent supporters of public access to the law.
Lee and Kristy currently reside in the Rocky Mountains of Utah.
