In l892, Monongahela City celebrated their centennial anniversary. The usual activities occurred: that is, a parade and exhibits concerning past events of importance. But, what was unusual, at least by today's standards, was a series of lectures on selected topics by local men, including two-well known local historians. These edited lectures were published by Chill Hazard, the editor of the Monongahela Republican. This is a reprint of the l895 work; the publisher added an introducton and index.
