Joseph Delaney is a retired English teacher living in Lancashire. He has three children and seven grandchildren and is a wonderful public speaker available for conference, library and bookshop events. His home is in the middle of Boggart territory and his village has a boggart called the Hall Knocker, which was laid to rest under the step of a house near the church.

Mark Walden spent ten years producing video games for a living before finally deciding that perhaps it was time to do some 'real work'. His first book H.I.V.E was selected a winner in Richard and Judy 'Best Kid's Books Ever', Paramount optioned the film rights, and it has now been chosen as one of ten titles to feature in Booktrust's Booked Up scheme to give every secondary school child a free book. He has followed this success with two further titles in the extraordinarily brilliant H.I.V.E series. Mark lives in Hampshire with his family.
