Although he claims only to be an amateur artist, the charm of his paintings in this delightful book capture and lead on irrestistibly from one page to the next." "The paintings [in this book] are not arranged in any particular order. Norfolk landscapes alternate with ones from Scotland. Each picture is accompanied by a short note explaining its provenance. I have also included seven longer commentaries which may help to give a personal background to my delight in painting the glorious countryside which these two regions have in abundance. And, of course, like all landscape painters, I have been enthused by that special kind of light which one tries to create on canvas, board and paper". The author draws interesting links between the wilds of Scotland and Norfolk and remarks on technique and subject matter. . Artikel-Nr. 24668
