This book examines many of the best DNS servers available. The book covers each server's benefits and disadvantages, as well as how to configure and deploy it, and integrate it into your network infrastructure. It describes scenarios where each server is particularly useful, so you can choose the most suitable server for your site. The book also explains how DNS data can be stored in LDAP directories and SQL databases. This lets you build robust DNS systems that can be automated, and can be managed by multiple, distributed, system managers. There is an extensive tutorial on using LDAP with DNS.
