Stirling Engine Manual (Camden Miniature Steam Services) A4 sized hardback book, green coloured binding, gilt titles to both the front board and spine. As its a used book, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. This wonderful book is in good condition, small indentation to front board, just to the left of the titles near spine, please see photos, otherwise this book looks like its hardly been used or read. 183 pages all intact and in good, clean, readable order. Published in 1995, Originally parts of the book were published or appeared in "Modelling Stirling and Hot Air Engines" by James G. Rizzo published by Patrick Stephens Limited in 1985. Layout and Design by Andrew Luckhurst, Bath, Somerset, Printed and Bound by Biddles Limited, Guilford and Kings Lynn. The "Stirling-Cycle Engine" also known as the "STIRLING ENGINE" is the generic name given to a group of prime movers commonly known as "hot air engines" Stirling Engines work on a "closed cycle" system where the working medium, that is air, hydrogen or helium, is used over and over again. "Closed Cycle" and "Open Cycle" hot air engines are extremely heated to raise temperature of the working medium to provide the required degree of volumetric expansion in order to provide force. These engines are therefore also known as "External Combustion" engines. ("Open-cycle" hot air engines have fresh working medium induced during each cycle by means of valves). A truly fascinating read, ideal for all engine enthusiasts. Artikel-Nr. 2116
