Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. No Jacket. First Edition. 1985. viii, 168pp. B&W illustrations. "This book is about golf and golfers at Letchworth - with a few digressions. The establishment of the golf club - the construction of the golf course and the clubhouse - the organising of the Club - and an attempt to relate how some very human men (and women) went about doing it. It is as though we were eavesdropping on their deliberations and noting their errors and nodding approval occasionally - let us not be too critical of their faults - let us be honest and admit that blunders still occur today- and resolve to learn from their and our mistakes. That is the great value of recorded history. To satisfy those who must have facts and figures a special section - throw away?- appears at the end of the book." (From the Author's Preface) Signed and inscribed by the author for Henry Cotton thus; 'For Henry Cotton with best wishes from the author Rodney Hawkins'. The book is in excellent condition. There are no other inscriptions and all contents are tight and clean. SIGNED and INSCRIBED By Author. Artikel-Nr. Golf281
