This booklet is the first in a series of easy-to-read guides, which aim to provide fully-illustrated introductions to a range of subjects relating to arms and armour. This particular volume aims to provide a brief introduction to the development of Japanese armour. It gives an insight into the traditions and techniques of the Japanese armourer, using many illustrations from original Japanese texts. All of the main armour styles are illustrated, in colour, and a glossary of Japanese terms is provided on a fold-out flap for ease of reference. There is also advice on further reading.
