Inhaltsangabe

Have you ever wondered what happens when pigs fly or your favorite duck decoy shows up in drag? My Outdoors explains these mysteries and many more. Award-winning humorist Steve Galea relives experiences that range from the mildly embarrassing to seriously befuddling to downright life-threatening, but always hilariously. Join the host of questionable backwoods characters with whom he shares quality time in aromatic deer camps, disintegrating duck blinds and leaky boats. Learn why their motto is "Conservation through Incompetence!"

If you’re a hunter who wants to know how to properly miss whatever you are aiming at, or an angler who avoids catching fish so you won’t have to clean them, you will find yourself among friends in this collection of stories that are not merely amusing—they’re laugh-out-loud, tears-rolling-down-your-cheeks hilarious.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Whether neck deep in bog or hopelessly lost in the uplands, Steve Galea's writings take outdoorsmen to places where they've probably been but don't care to admit. A popular columnist for Ontario Out of Doors magazine and several newspapers, Galea's brand of humour has also appeared in unwitting publications such as Buckmaster's, Retriever Journal and Today's Parent. Ontario Community Newspaper Association's Columnist of the Year for 2000 and Humour Columnist of the Year for 2001, the bewildered Galea has also received accolades for humour at the 2002 Magazine Awards and in the Canadian Community Newspaper Association's Best National Editorial category in 2001.

Steve, his wife Carol, three anonymous kids and a befuddled golden retriever live on a 100-acre farm near Tory Hill, Ontario where fishing, hunting and the great outdoors are just a trip and stumble away.

About the Illustrator:

Having never won anything, Tom Goldsmith still manages to eke out an existence by riding on Steve Galea's coat tails. A huge fan of olives, Tom has dropped out or been rejected from some of North America's most prestigious art programs.

Tom's lifelong ambition to paint the Sistine Chapel was recently thwarted by overzealous security at the site condemning him to cartoon work and hunting and fishing with social misfits such as Galea.

Tom lives in Coldwater, Ontario with his wife, two kids and too many dogs.
