Professor Anthon E. Darling, B.S., the creation of author David E. Walden, discusses his favourite instrument, the piano, in a book that is riotously revealing, rich and redolent in humour and offering a smidgen of intellectual stimulation. Darling is brutally fearlesss, with searingly honest titles like COULD WE PLEASE DISCUSS THE ROMANTICS WITHOUT MENTIONING S.E.X.? And who else but he would boldly face the piano music of the modern era with a title sure to create controversy, namely FONDLED, SLAPPED, KICKED AND TICKLED - THE PIANO ADVANCES. Darling also tackles the greats in chapters such as BUSTED WIRES AND BROKEN MOVEMENTS - THE OTHER HALF OF BEETHOVEN. For ever the inveterate pedagogue, Darling will teach the reader more than he has ever dreamed of learning or has been afraid to ask about the piano, past and present.
