This paperback reprint retains the editors short but highly informative forewords as well as copious additions to Croll?s original footnotes. Although the forewords and footnotes have not been updated for this reprint, they provide much historical context and scholarly background, reviewing more recent work (up to circa 1966) and critiquing Croll?s essays in light of it.?
