By the mid 1990's, the sad condition of John and Mable Ringling's once glorious showplace caused the local community to take action. Appeals were made to state legislators to save its mansion, the Ringling being officially recognized as "The State Art Museum of Florida." Funding appeals went out and, through a combination of sources - public and private; local, state and national - funds were raised to restore Sarasota's architectural treasure. Once again one of America's Castles, the mansion reopened to a grateful and adoring public in April of 2002. This book will tell you about the processes that led to the mansion's revival.
