This standard embodiestechnical resolutions agreed by the International Standards Organisation TechnicalCommittee responsible for fan performance. It is known that some organisations arealready using the new standard for specifications. Moreover, because of itssimilarity to other actual and proposed National Standards, it is likely to bereadily accepted by international specifiers of fan equipment for determiningsatisfactory levels of performance.The new BS 848 Part 1 has now been available for about 15 to 18 months and in thattime many manufacturers will have begun to assess the implications of the standard,not only in terms of test facilities, but in terms of the presentation of the testinformation.
