Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Jan L. Wallander is Associate Professor of Psychology and Scientist at the Civitan International Research Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he directs the Stress and Coping Research Program. A former President of the Society of Pediatric Psychology and Associate Editor of the Journal of Pediatric Psychology, he is currently focusing attention in professional affairs on international developments relevant to children's and adolescents' health and behavior, for example as a Co-Chair of the International Task Force of SPP and Pediatric Track Co-Chair for the Fourth International Congress of Behavior Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association-Division of Health Psychology. An active scientist, he has published over 80 papers and books, obtained in excess of $1.5 million in research funding from the National Institutes of Health, and currently holds a Research Career Development Award from NIH. His research deals with the psychosocial well-being and development of children and adolescents with chronic handicapping conditions and their families.

Lawrence J. Siegel, Ph.D., is Dean and Professor of Psychology at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and is Past President of the Society of Pediatric Psychology (Section 5, Division 12 of APA). Currently, Dr. Siegel is Editor of «MDUL»The Clinical Psychologist«MDNM». He has co-authored and edited four textbooks and published numerous research articles in the areas of child clinical/pediatric psychology.
