This work summarizes findings from a field of study of 48 consecutive years on the 18 species of snakes presented on the University of Kansas's Natural History Reservation, or adjoining sections of land, and is based on more than 31,000 capture records. Individual histories were investigated by mark-and-recapture and by radiotelemetry, and reveal information about seasonal schedules, food, reproduction, growth, survivorship and responses to weather and climate.
