It presents a discussion of surface wave devices with special concentration on their application to integrated optics. The text also considers many of the fundamental acousto-optic devices, including modulators, filters and Q-switches. It describes the different types of acousto-optic convolvers, correlators and spectrum analyzers along with more complicated systems, such as optical computers and matrix processors.
