Goering has served as a faculty chair and a professor of outdoor teacher education at Northern Illinois University, as well as the dean of men, associate professor of recreation, and director of the Kauffman Museum and the Peace Lecture Series at Bethel College. He lives in Moundridge, Kansas. Judy K. Brookhiser is the assistant dean of the College of Sciences & Human Services at Murray State University. She lives in Murray, Kentucky.
