This is the second edition of a book that has seen numerous printings since first publication by Nolo in 1985 ( LJ 2/15/86) . It was previously published by McGraw-Hill ( LJ 7/79). With new material and illustrations, Nolo's latest edition is still an excellent reference "how-to" book, by a patent attorney and inventor. The chapters on marketing and international patenting are found in no similar source. This second Nolo edition is not significantly different from the previous one. If you already have another printing of this title, you need not replace it. Prefer instead a treatment of the same information, such as Thomas E. DeForest's Inventor's Guide to Successful Patent Applications (TAB, 1988).
